TikTok user Rachael refused to pay for a bottle of water during a flight with Ireland’s low-cost airline.

She went on to explain their social media: “I was thirsty, but didn’t want to pay €3.00 for water.”

She then filmed herself holding a plastic cup with two giant ice cubes in it – which she melted.

She then drank the small amount of water they produced.

She added in the caption, “No reason why water has to be so expensive.”

Rachael told the Daily Dot that water should be free on Ryanair flights as many passengers could suffer from “motion sickness and cabin pressure”.

She said: “They don’t allow us to take our own liquids on the plane.”

“The least they can do is offer it for free or bring the cost down to a price you would pay to buy it locally.”

Some people further tick tock shared their own free water hacks.

One person commented: “Next When it’s time to tell them you’re feeling sick, they’ll give you a bottle of water. (Well, if I get sick on a plane, I ask and always get).

Another person said: “Take an empty bottle with you when you travel. There are usually places at the airport where you can refill them.”

A third simply said, “A hack we didn’t know we needed.”

However, not everyone was convinced.

Another commented, “You never hit rock bottom until all you had was ice cream in a cup and melted it.”

Another agreed: “It’s never that deep, just buy the water.”

A third wrote: “Maybe not take a flight if you can’t afford €3 for water.”
