RYLAN Clark has revealed the real reason he quit hosting Strictly’s spin-off show – and admitted his agents weren’t impressed.
The former Big Brother presenter, 34, announced earlier this year that he was leaving It Takes Two after four years.
He had co-hosted the show with BBC Radio 2’s Zoe Ball before she left and was replaced by Janette Manrara.
Now Rylan has revealed exactly why he decided to dramatically leave the show.
He said: “I have been doing the same type of work for 10 years. I’ve just reached the point: What do I want? What do I want to be? Who do I want to be? What show do?” What do I want to do in the future?
“And it’s really hard to figure that out while doing different things.
“So take a step back, take a minute for me, unwind and don’t turn on the TV and see yourself watching what everyone else is doing. This is a really good decision for me.”
He added: “If you tell your agents you’re leaving the biggest television show you can imagine, they’ll beat themselves up.”
Rylan was replaced on It Takes Two by former contestant and X-Factor Fleur East.
At the time of his departure, he told fans: “After four fantastic years, it’s time for me to hang up my sparkly jacket and say goodbye to It Takes Two.”
“I had the best time co-hosting with Janette and Zoe and I can’t thank the amazing team enough for always putting on a great show.”
“I have been welcomed into the Strictly family and will firmly hold on to this title that is close to my heart. It’s time for me to pass the baton to someone else and explore what else life has to offer for me.”
He concluded: “Thank you so much Strictly, you will always have my heart… and my dancing feet.”
