Salah stays! Liverpool’s surprise contract news sent social media wild

Mohamed Salah has signed a new long-term contract extension at Liverpool in a definitive end to months of speculation and conjecture about his immediate future.
The Reds announced on Friday afternoon that the club have reached an agreement with Salah to extend his contract, with the Egyptian striker staying at Anfield until the summer of 2025.
“It’s a happy day for everyone,” Salah said in a statement published on the official Liverpool website. “I think it takes a bit of time to renew but it’s all done now so we just need to focus on what’s next.”
In five years on Merseyside, Salah has played a pivotal role in several successes under Jurgen Klopp, scoring 156 goals in 254 games while winning the Premier League title, Champions League and a domestic cup double in 2021-22, along with a clutch of individual awards.

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher had previously responded to Issa’s tweet by speaking on behalf of the perplexed fanbase, dismissing it as “cryptic crap”.
All reds love their client, and if he leaves next summer we wish him well and say a big thank you. But we can do without this cryptic crap for the next 12 months! @MoSalah In a word!! https://t.co/XFyu84vC0V
