Now’s the time to act if you’ve been craving a Galaxy Z Fold 4 but couldn’t quite justify shelling out almost two grand for 256+ GB of storage. Amazon sells the 512GB foldable for $1,500, a very nice $420 off the official price. That’s considerably less than what you’d typically pay for the base model, and matches what’s on offer on Samsung’s website.

The Galaxy Z Fold 4 is ultimately an evolution of its predecessor, but that doesn’t necessarily have to be a bad thing. Samsung has addressed some of the enthusiast phone’s remaining weaknesses with better rear cameras, improved battery life and added design polish. This remains the device to get if you want a powerful phone that can double as a tablet, especially if you like juggling multiple apps.

The catches at this point are the same as you’ve seen on previous models and to some extent on foldable devices in general. Compared to conventional smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 is bulky and you have to live with quirks like the display bend. The rear cameras won’t beat what you get on the S22 Ultra, and the under-display selfie camera is so-so (though better hidden). However, if you’re an early adopter or willing to pay for the biggest screen you can get, you’re unlikely to find better hardware at this retail price.
