Sara Sharif’s stepmother and father say they have ‘gone into hiding’ in first statement since death of 10-year-old

Sara Sharif’s stepmother has spoken for the first time since the 10-year-old girl was found dead at her home in Surrey on August 10.

In one video, Beinash reads a statement to Batool while seated next to Sara’s father, Urfan Sharif.

“All of our family members have gone into hiding because everyone fears for their safety,” she says, adding that the family “are ready to cooperate with the British authorities and take our case to court”.

Police want to speak to Mr Sharif and Ms Batool, who are believed to have traveled to Pakistan from the UK the day before the girl’s body was found.

Mr Sharif has reportedly booked “one-way” airline tickets.
