PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — The Philly Cheese School is a first in Philadelphia.

In the new classroom in Bella Vista’s showcase, you can taste different types of cheese and taste different combinations, from traditional honey and fruit to more “strange” combinations such as cheese with biscuits, sweets or muesli.

Julia Birnbaum is a Cheese Monger at the Philly Cheese School, and she’s made it her mission to teach people how to combine, serve, and really indulge in cheese in all things.

Julia comes from the Main Line and began hosting virtual classes during the pandemic after eight years in the cheese industry, including running the cheese counter at Di Bruno Brothers in Rittenhouse.

She has put together courses for everyone from beginners to cheese pros and also hosts private events.
