Schoolboy, 12, arrested after Ukrainian teen, 13, ‘stabbed’ & two others injured in ‘racially aggravated attack’

A 12-year-old boy was arrested after a Ukrainian In an alleged “racism” attack, a student is said to have been stabbed and two others injuredck.

The boys, aged 13 and one, 15, were on their way to a bus stop on Niddrie Mains Road in Edinburgh when a group of eight young people approached them around 8.30pm on Sunday.

Two youths from the group allegedly attacked one of the 13-year-old boys and lacerated his ear, and other members of the group then allegedly attacked the other two Ukrainians.

The 15-year-old was allegedly beaten and the 13-year-old is said to have been stabbed.

Police confirmed tonight that they had arrested a schoolboy in connection with the alleged attack.

The injured boys were taken to hospital and the alleged incident was reported to police on Monday.

The officials regarded the alleged incident as racially aggravated and asked for information.

A Scottish Police spokesman said: “Investigations into the full circumstances are ongoing.”
