Scots hotel voted best wedding hotel in the WORLD

A Scottish stately home has been named the best wedding hotel in the world for the fourth time.

The Balbirnie House Hotel in Markinch, near Glenrothes in Fife, won the award at the Haute Grandeur Global Awards.

The award-winning hotel is a listed Georgian manor house dating from around 1777.

And they’ve held a whopping 172 weddings this year, with another 170 planned for 2024 The courier.

This means that next year every Saturday will be fully booked for a wedding.

Managing director Nicholas Russell said the secret to their success was that they took it day by day.

Mr Russell told the Courier: “It’s amazing to see the hard work and wonderful hospitality of so many people being recognized around the world.”

“We can certainly now reflect on a stunning story of celebration, and long may that continue.”

The hotel also took home the winning award in 2019, 2021 and 2022.

And it was even named the best wedding hotel in Europe in 2020 and the best wedding resort in the world in 2018.

They have even taken home Scotland’s Wedding Hotel of the Year award 14 times.

The Balbirnie House Hotel has received numerous awards including Best Country Hotel, Best Classic Hotel in Europe and Best Venue Hotel in Europe.
