Season 2 of The Recruit is not coming to Netflix in February 2023

Since premiering on Netflix ahead of the holiday season in December 2022, the recruit proved to be a stable dark horse for the streaming service. Amid a steady stream of cancellations, Netflix has officially seated the recruit Season 2 on our upcoming watchlists.

On January 26, Netflix renewed the successful Freshman series with Noah Centineo for another season. After its release on December 16th the recruit shot to the top of the Netflix Top 10 and racked up well over 220 million hours of viewing within the first month of availability.

According to Netflix, the recruit Season 2 picks up where the first season’s cliffhanger ended, which left an important character’s life at stake. Plus, a shocking revelation will completely change the game for Owen’s future.

Although Netflix has renewed the recruit For Season 2 before February 2023, don’t expect to see new episodes soon. The next season won’t premiere anytime soon. However, Netflix has announced a release year for the upcoming second season.

When could The Recruit Season 2 be out on Netflix?

Filming for Season 1 began in October 2021 and ended in March 2022. After five months of filming, it took about eight months before the series premiered in December.

To keep up the momentum of Season 1, we don’t expect Netflix to wait quite that long to release Season 2 once post-production is complete. We’ll likely get an update on the status of the show during the TUDUM fan event in September 2023, but for now let’s hope for a spring 2023 release date – or summer at the latest.
