Second ABC news producer dead in a week – Erica Gonzalez, 28, died overnight after the death of producer Dax Tejera, 37.

A SECOND ABC news producer died suddenly and unexpectedly this week of respiratory failure. And all over social media, people are spreading conspiracy theories about her death.

Media Take Out confirmed that Erica Gonzalez, a 28-year-old otherwise healthy morning show producer, passed away on Friday over the weekend.

Erica was a proud mother to her son Brandon; who is an honors student in high school. One of her best days was his graduation in April.

The two shared a passion for Padres baseball and attended many games at Petco under the Friar Faithful. One of her favorite players was Mister Padre Tony Gwynn. She also loved San Diego Chargers legend Junior Seau.

Dax Tejera, another ABC producer, died on December 24. His death was announced by Division President Kim Godwin, who noted his “energy, passion and love” for his work. He joined ABC News in 2017 as a senior producer. In early 2020, he headlined This Week. He previously served as Executive Producer on America With Jorge Ramos.
