Sega’s Creative Assembly is working on a brand new game that was revealed today: Hyenas. The title is described as a multiplayer, multi-team heist experience set in outer space with a punky comic book aesthetic. In practical terms, this means players can compete against each other in five teams of three for a prize, “attacking, dodging, exploiting and stealing their way to victory”. The game’s debut trailer shows some quickly inserted action, but to see it all for yourself you can check out the trailer below.
The story envisions a world where the billionaires have finally made it to Mars, destroying Earth in the process. The rich, however, grow nostalgic for the culture of their former planet. So they send out ships to collect loot from the remains of Earth’s poor survivors. Not content to accept this, the hyenas fight back.
The game is still in the early stages of development, so the creators haven’t announced the release date yet, but we do know that the game will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. While there’s still a long way to go, you can sign up for Hyena’s Alpha today and learn a lot more about the title in IGN‘s Summer of Gaming stream full of interviews.
