Selma Blair is showing the world a different, more vulnerable side of herself and her journey. In a recent interview with People, Blair talked about the many different traumas she has faced in her life, mainly discussing her long battle with alcoholism. She revealed the shocking news that she first started drinking when she was just seven years old, but said she did not know if she “could survive her childhood without alcoholism.”
She said, “That’s why it’s a problem for so many people. It was a huge consolation indeed, a huge relief in the beginning. Maybe even the early years for me because I started really young with that as a comfort, as my coping mechanism. ”
In her upcoming memoir, Evil intentions The star talks deeply about her past traumas, showing the world a different side of her. She says she wrote the book both for her 10-year-old son Arthur Saint Bleick and for others going through similar trauma. “Great number of. I wrote the book for my son. . . and for those who try to find the deepest hole to get into until the pain is gone.”
Blair has been sober since 2016, telling everyone she’s in a good place. “I am in a good place. I can’t believe all this has happened in my life, and I’m still here and I’m okay. ”
