BALTIMORE (WJZ) – According to authorities, four Baltimore County police officers and two EMS service employees were injured by an explosion at a nail salon in Windsor Mill, Maryland, on Monday night.
Fire officials said one man suffered life-threatening injuries at the same time.

According to authorities, the explosion occurred at the 1700 block of Rolling Road at Libra Nails & Spa. Fire officials said it caused damage to several other businesses.
Baltimore County fire officials said the man may have been a former employee of the business. According to the authorities, he was known to the business and its employees.
He is considered a suspect in the fire investigation, according to Baltimore County Sheriff’s Department spokesman John Connors. The charges are pending, Connors said.
I just spoke to a witness – Reggie Watson – who described a person entering and leaving Libra Nail & Spa as “disorderly” before the explosion.

Hazardous materials may have been involved in the fire, county fire officials said.
According to authorities, Baltimore County police were initially responding to a criminal complaint around 9:15 p.m. when the explosion occurred.

Fire officials did not learn the details of the criminal complaint.
Connors said the man refused to leave the business. Police said he returned to the business and set it on fire.

Police said the circumstances surrounding the blaze – such as its origin and how it started – were under investigation.
Investigators from the local division of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are participating in the investigation, Connors said.
After the explosion, firefighters began checking each business to make sure no one else was injured, authorities said.
Several injured first responders have complained of chest pain and smoke inhalation, fire officials said.
