Several RAW stars scheduled for this week’s SmackDown

Several superstars from Monday Night RAW are scheduled to appear on this week’s upcoming Friday Night SmackDown, which will emerge from the Simmons Bank Arena in Little Rock, Arkansas.

As PWInsider reports, local ads featuring Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens and Cody Rhodes will appear on the brand in blue this week.

The point to keep in mind here is that these stars will likely struggle in dark matches, or matches that are not filmed and are only available to a live audience. This has been the norm for the past few months, with wrestlers from both brands wrestling in dark matches on the other show.

Cody Rhodes could face Seth Rollins in a match as a teaser for their duel at WWE’s upcoming high-profile live event, Hell in the Cell.

However, recently there is some precedent for some stars to wear “different” brands. As the Champion of SmackDown Tag Team, The Usos is on RAW and the red brand champions RK-Bro have also crossed the line. The two teams struggled in last week’s episode of the blue brand to unify the tag championships.

The decision to unify the RAW and SmackDown Tag Team titles was reported at the last minute

Usos beat RK-Bro to unify the tag team titles of both brands with support from Undisputed WWE Champion Roman Reigns on Friday Night SmackDown last week.

Dave Meltzer had this to say on Wrestling Observer Radio:

“The only thing I’ve been told is the angle. As for what they’re going to do when they get to the finish line, they go back and forth and Vince made the call. Basically, you know, ‘we pushed. this is a lot, we can as well do it.’ It’s not like some sort of long-term plan and this is the day they’re going to come back. I mean, there’s no other plan but one big angle… The decision itself wasn’t made until Friday,” (H/T: Wrestling News)

Other reports say that Riddle and Randy Orton will be Reigns’ next two challengers at Hell In a Cell and Summerslam respectively. Unifying the tag title could be one way to free RK-Bro for a World Championship spot, but that’s just speculation at the moment.
