Sex and the City fans hail Kim Cattrall as she confirms ‘And Just Like That’ season 2 cameo
Kim Cattrall gave that Sex and the City Fandom got the “best news” when she confirmed she will be reprising her role as Samantha Jones in the second season of the ongoing spin-off.
In a surprise announcement on Wednesday (May 31), it was reported that Cattrall would be returning in a surprise appearance for the Season 2 finale And just like that… (available on Sky and NOW in the UK).
On Thursday (June 1), the 66-year-old actor confirmed the reports in an Instagram post.
“Happy Pride!” Cattrall wrote alongside a screenshot of a diversity Headline – “Sex and the City Shocker: Kim Cattrall returns as Samantha Jones And just like that… Miniature”.
while it was diversity who broke the news, it could well be that Cattrall broke the internet.
The post’s comments section was bombarded with ecstatic fans praising the screen “legend” for her return to the franchise.
“And just like that… the ratings will go up! All because of you,” one person suggested.
“That’s exactly how it should have been from the start…” declared a second. “Sex and the City is not Sex and the City without her.”
“Mother who tortures us for five years and then gives us what we want and need, we are not worthy of bowing down,” quipped a third.

Also, Kris Jenner, a celebrity who was delighted at the good news, wrote: “FABULOUS!!!!!!!”
Cattrall reportedly recorded her dialogue for her brief cameo appearance on March 22.
It is also claimed that Cattrall recorded her lines without seeing or interacting with the other stars of the series, including Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis, or the series showrunner Michael Patrick King.
The scene will reportedly see Samantha, who now lives in London, on the phone with Carrie Bradshaw (Parker).

Cattrall portrayed Samantha on the six-season drama from 1998-2004 and reprized the role in two subsequent feature films. However, she had been vocal about not wanting to return to the role again.
In 2016, she announced that she was done with the role of Samantha while there was talk of a possible third role Sex and the City film that never came about.
Catrall’s relationship with Parker and other cast members has reportedly been strained since the actors exchanged words in a series of interviews after 2016.
