‘Shadow and Bone’ Season 2 trailer gives us our first look at Nikolai and Wylan

When we last left Netflix’s heroes shadow and bone, they believed the Darkling (Ben Barnes), the powerful shadowcaster who created the shadowfold, was dead. However, as the Season 2 trailer shows us, this is by no means the case. Not only is the Darkling still alive, he has a new army of shadowy creatures at his disposal.

As the Darkling grows in strength, sun summoner Alina (Jessie Mei Li) will have no choice but to take on more power of her own if she ever hopes to tear down the crease. She and Mal (Archie Renaux) must track down the legendary sea whip and firebird to boost their sun summoning abilities. They also need new allies, like the charming pirate – sorry, buccaneer – Sturmhond (Patrick Gibson), who has a few secrets of his own.

Across the world, the Crows – Kaz (Freddy Carter), Inej (Amita Suman) and Jesper (Kit Young) – return to Ketterdam to find themselves surrounded by enemies on all sides. When the opportunity arises for a well-paid (but deadly) heist, they turn to new friends like heartrender Nina (Danielle Galligan) and demolitions expert Wylan (Jack Wolfe) for a chance at glory – one that will make them… Cross could lead paths with Alina once more.
