Shanna Moakler reveals her father passed away seven months after her mother died

Shanna Moakler shares some sad news with her followers.
On Friday the model went to Instagram to reveal that her father, John W. Moakler II, had passed away just seven months after losing her mother.
Shanna posted a series of family photos from the past, including several shots of her and her father posing together and a picture of John, a dentist, working on someone else’s teeth.

“It fills me with great sadness to announce the death of my father. The only comfort is knowing he’s with my beautiful mom,” she captioned the post. “I am so grateful that I got to spend as many years with my parents as I have and the time that I have spent with him over the past few weeks.”
“My father was a great husband, doctor and father, he was more than anyone could ask for,” she continued. “I will hold on to the incredible life my parents gave me and the love and strength they instilled in me. The unwavering support at times when I didn’t deserve it.”
“I love you dad and my world will never be the same without you,” she wrote, before expressing her gratitude to everyone who has shown their love and support. “I appreciate everyone who has reached out and sent messages of support. Good luck.”
The 48-year-old did not provide any information on the cause of John’s death.

Meanwhile, Shanna’s kids landon And Alabama Barker – which she shares with her ex-husband Travis Barker – both paid tribute to their late grandfather on their Instagram Stories and re-shared a photo from Shanna’s post, which showed a picture of their grandparents when they were little.
“It is with a heavy heart…I write this message,” wrote the 17-year-old Alabama. “It was so difficult [lose] You two in a year, but today my grandpa went to heaven, I love you both very much, both of you! & I hope you are reunited and finally relieved until we meet again. ❤️”
“I love you so much Grandpa, and now yours too[e] “Rest in peace with grandma ❤️,” shared 19-year-old Landon in his post.
Back in January, Shanna sadly announced that her mother, Gail, had died at the age of 77, sharing the news People.
“I’m so grateful to all the friends and family who have reached out and offered their condolences,” she said. “My mother was a beautiful, kind and loving woman and she was everything I want to be.”
“As a mother, she was loving, kind and supportive,” she continued. “More than anything, she was my best friend and I will miss her every day of my life.”

Shanna concluded: “I understand that this is a part of life and something we can all actually support one another with, which is the loss of someone we love. Good luck.”
The former reality star also mourned her mother’s death on Instagram at the time.
“This is the day I was always afraid of losing my best friend, my support system and my beautiful mother,” she wrote alongside a carousel of souvenir photos. “I honestly can’t find the words to express how loving, kind and amazing she was. I honestly don’t know how I’m going to get through this life without her. How lucky I am to be her daughter and to have her for as long as I did.
Shanna called her mom “everything I hoped for,” before adding that she would miss “every second of everyday life.”
“I love you mom,” she finished. “Kiss Vo vo for me and hug Mason. Please visit me in my dreams.”
