‘She-Hulk: Attorney at Law’: A big win for female empowerment

LOS ANGELES — She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is a new action-adventure television series based on the Marvel Comics superhero of the same name. She-Hulk, starring Tatiana Maslany as Jennifer Walters, is a one-of-a-kind television series that follows the life and adventures of a woman in her 30s who becomes a 6ft 7in green super-powered female Hulk as she navigates the complex world of being navigates single, lawyer who happens to be Bruce Banner’s (The Hulk) cousin.

She-Hulk features a mostly female cast and crew excited for viewers to experience the series’ diverse storylines. Jessica Gao, She-Hulk’s lead writer, says of On The Red Carpet, “To have all these diverse women who brought their own life experiences and their own perspectives, it really creates such a complete picture and feels like a 360 degree – view of femininity.”

The series portrays women in a powerful and inspiring way. “We’re about to see what a powerhouse you can have when you have a female-led team,” said Brandon Stanley, who plays Eugene Patillio/Leap-Frog. “It’s a great honor to work with all of these powerful women figures in the industry.”

While She-Hulk is primarily driven by women, Jameela Jamil, who portrays superhero Titania, explains, “The show isn’t meant to be misandristic. We are not against men. We want men on our side and I think that’s why Jen and the Hulk’s relationship is so important to show that we’re looking for that camaraderie.”

This nine-episode series is set to premiere on Disney+ on August 18, 2022.
