look at your feet How many kilometers have you walked in these shoes? I wear my favorite pair of penny loafers and have honestly lost track of their estimated mileage because wherever I go, they go. Winter fashion season is on the horizon with a new trend prediction – if you’re paying attention to a ‘what to buy this season’ article, let it be (this one!) on 2022 footwear trends. You may not wear the same outfit multiple times a week, but I can bet your shoes keep popping up.
Shoe trends are often more subtle than clothing trends, which keeps them relevant in your closet for a longer period of time. This season’s trends play with classic styles (like the loafers mentioned above) and bring back silhouettes you may have thought lost in the archives – or just at the back of your closet.
From Adidas Samba soccer shoes to ballet flats, shoes are experiencing a revival in the early 2000s. While the shoes may look chillingly similar to what you wore in middle school, their style has been completely reinvented. Bring out your inner Matilda Djerf and get ready to embrace the new version of old classics.
At STYLECASTER our mission is to bring style to people and we only offer products that we think you will love as much as we do. Loafers are a trend that hopefully will never go out of style. They look incredible with any outfit aesthetic and automatically add a touch of sophistication to a look. If you bought cleated loafers last year, keep wearing them! If you’re interested in adding another pair to your collection or are buying a loafer for the first time, you might want to opt for a more classic pair. Penny loafers (similar to the pair your dad is likely to wear) are this season’s iteration of the trend and celebrities like Emma Chamberlain can’t get enough of the look.

Iconic leather loafers
This pair of green loafers from PEDRO is gorgeous and so unique! The silhouette is classic, but the soft shade of green gives them a little twist – plus they’re neutral enough that they’ll still go with whatever you wear. Alex penny loafers
Wear this pair of black penny loafers with white crew socks and a mini skirt as your fall uniform. I can personally attest to the comfort of Vagabond loafers (I’m wearing mine right now).
Get a shoe that can do both – from the soccer field to the city streets, true athletic shoes are running laps at the shoe competition this fall. Celebrities like Bella Hadid and Hailey Bieber have ushered in fall athletic style with repeated appearances in Adidas Samba sneakers (originally intended for indoor soccer) and Salomon trail running shoes. The trend is towards a slimmer silhouette (say goodbye to the chunky dad sneakers of yesteryear), making them easy to pair with casual attire. Grab a slip, mini skirt or cargo pants and grab some fashion essentials.

This pair of samba shoes is the original style available in black or white. The shoe is technically part of the men’s collection, so check the conversion to your size.

XT-6 Unisex Sportstyle Shoes
If you were to take a trip to Copenhagen or Amsterdam, you would see every fashionista wearing Salomon sneakers. The trend is gaining traction in the US (especially in New York City) and this sneaker always sells out instantly!
Love them or hate them, platform clogs are one of fall’s biggest (and highest!) footwear trends. Clogs popped up on my Instagram feed last spring and subtly continued into the summer — you’ve probably seen the Birkenstock Boston clogs on everyone’s feet. For fall, clogs get a formal upgrade to a platform version. They look great with crew length or high socks, tights or bare feet and exist in the gap between a heel and a loafer. Basically it is the perfect comfortable and stylish shoe for the office.

Clogs with thick heels and studs
If you’re into a grungier vibe, this pair of leather clogs from Zara is a great choice.
Grab those middle school ballet flats from the back of your closet and make a little run because ballet flats are back, baby! I’ve had enough time to process the return of this trend to be excited about it, but I understand if this trend comes as bad news — it’s hard to discern the ballet flats and skinny jean combo from your memories (or Facebook profile picture from 2008) to delete. . Ballet flats make an appearance this season as an alternative to loafers (which are still cool!) as part of the balletcore aesthetic. It’s girly, playful, comfortable and worth a try.

Leather ballerinas with bow detailing
Silver ballerinas and an LBD are the new outfit combination. No question.

The square wrap
I love the ankle lacing on this pair of mesh ballet flats.
The fall version of your strappy summer kitten heels is here. Appearance: the kitten boots with heels. Balenciaga released the Le Cagole version of the style last season and I’ve been obsessed with it ever since. The Balenciaga boots retail for over $1,500, but luckily there are many cheaper versions on the market. This style looks great with maxi dresses and skirts, or that accentuate the small heel and pointed toe.

White boots are unexpected for fall (in a good way!). This pair also comes in tan and black if you prefer more traditional fall tones.
