However, one curious shopper urged mums and dads to head to their local Tesco after managing to snag some heavily discounted items in the store’s mega sale.

And with prices starting as low as 13p, it’s no wonder she’s shouting about it from the rooftops.

Sandie Davis went to the money-saving Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK and posted a photo of her giant back-to-school booty.

Her bargain purchases include folders for 13p and a large pack of highlighters, reduced to 40p.

She also snagged a calculator and a math desk set, both at a reduced price of just 20p each.

The delighted shopper wrote: “All from Tesco for less than 50p apiece.”

Since then, the post has garnered over 600 likes and hundreds of comments, with many dying to head to their nearest store to bag some bargains.

“As a teacher, there’s only one thing sexier than stationery, and that’s reduced stationery. Great find Sandie!” joked one.

A second gushed: “Ohhh look at the bargains!”

A third wrote: “Please keep your eyes peeled!”

Meanwhile, a fourth commented: “Wow!”

Another asked: “Where was this information a few days ago when I went to get my kids stationery?”

“Great find!”

And it’s not the first time shoppers have flocked to Tesco in recent weeks.

Fabulous previously told how parents rushed to the nearest store to snag bargains in baby and children’s sales – with a scan for just £1.
