Shoppers horrified after noughties fashion trend is making a comeback & people are saying it looks worse than ever

THE Noughties were an exciting time for fashion and it looks like it’s about to haunt us all again.

Wearing skirts over pants is making a comeback and makes Millennials feel more nauseous than nostalgic.

You probably have fond memories of flipping through a glossy magazine to see the likes of Hilary Duff and Sienna Miller with their puzzling looks, and you’re about to have a wave of deja-vu.

Gigi Hadid was one of the first stars to dress in a youthful style in 2016, wearing a denim skirt over jeans.

And things have spiraled since then.

During the Fall/Winter 2023 fashion shows, we saw models appear on the runway in several dresses or skirts over pants.

Countless influencers and fashionistas have followed suit, imitating street style that will make you think you’ve strangely gone back in time.

Now the bold look has swept into high street stores, with Urban Outfitters and Ragged Priest jumping on the bandwagon.

Some stores even offer jeans with built-in skirts and belts if you want to fully commit to this goal.

For those who remember the days of CD walkmans and floppy disks, the rise of fashion trends shows no signs of abating.

A Millennial shared one flick off of a mannequin in her local Urban Outfitters store wearing jeans and a long purple skirt.

“I saw this on Urban Outfitters the other day and almost had a heart attack,” she wrote.

“Dear Gen Z, please don’t do that.

“You will regret it.

“I understand bringing back low-rise jeans but I implore you to skip this whole awkward phase and never bring it back.”

Before long, the post had attracted more than 721,000 views and received hundreds of comments – with very mixed responses.

“You won’t catch me in there,” one person noted.

A second agreed: “Low-rise jeans are fine, but that’s hmmmmmm.”

A third quipped: “I’ve definitely destroyed all evidence of me testing this trend.”

And another joked: “At this point they’re seeing how far we’ll go.”
