‘SNL’ Video: Is Jealous Selena Gomez Actually Receiving Dude Nudes?

Singers sang songs about it. Playwrights wrote plays about it. But when it comes to jealousy, Saturday night live love doing a bit of both.

In a pre-edited musical sale, guest host Selena Gomez plays a woman visited by her intuition (Punkie Johnson). Appearing like a devil on her shoulder, Intuition took Gomez from quietly enjoying a night to lazily hanging out with her boyfriend’s Xbox “crawling” out the window.

Not to be outdone, the boyfriend (Chris Redd) said he had set foot over their coffee table because owned Intuition (played by musical guest Post Malone). Redd’s triggers are that the messages Malone convinces him are dodgy photos from LeBron James.

All manner of intrusive behavior – from Instagram stalking to email hacking, to physical violence – is unraveled by Gomez and Redd’s performance. Both of them seemed genuinely shocked at the absurd conclusions they reached even when the TV screen was leaning against the chorus of “He By That Bitch House”. Malone was cleverly chosen to just sing her “Dude Nudes” instead of acting. (We can’t all be guests and hosts of music, Lizzo.)

While this segment may seem confusing, it’s actually pretty forgivable to all involved. We can all get carried away by dark and spiraling thoughts – people can even do things and feel completely stupid as soon as we do them.

In that way, it acts as a fun companion to the show’s chilling opening, addressing the case of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard driving rumors website traffic throughout the week. By focusing on the weirdness of the trial rather than what he/she had to say about it, it was fairly easy to forgive both Depp and Heard. We can all do things and feel completely stupid afterwards; that’s what people do.
