Sri Lanka President Sees Long Road to Securing Economic Stability

COLOMBO, Sri Lanka—Sri Lanka’s new president said the country has experienced the worst of its economic crisis and restoring political stability will allow it to turn around, beginning with the conclusion of negotiations for a bailout of the International Monetary Fund, which recently stalled riots.

“I think we’ve already hit rock bottom” Ranil Wickremesinghe said in an interview with the Wall Street Journal on Sunday. “I see the light at the end of the tunnel; that’s how fast we can get to it.”
