Staggering 1,600 Met Police officers & staff subject to complaints over violence or discrimination against women

In total, complaints of violence against women and girls or discrimination have been lodged against 1,600 Met Police officers and staff.
They were disciplined but never charged.
More than a quarter are under investigation and are facing charges.
The character emerged from Operation Onyx, which was created after a series of scandals within the force.
Deputy Assistant Commissioner Stuart Cundy said: “We are turning over the stones to expose everything that is going on within our organisation.”
The investigation also found that 201 officers and staff are currently suspended.
However, it will take until 2025 to clear the backlog of court cases involving police.
