Stranger Things’ Vecna Starring in Witchboard Remake

“Emily, her fiancé Christian and a group of their friends open an organic coffee shop and renovate an old coach house in New Orleans’ French Quarter. But a darkness descends on Emily when she discovers an ancient pendulum board that was once used to summon spirits. Christian enlists the occult expert Alexander Babtiste to help Emily, but Babtiste has his own secrets, knowing the fateful bloodlines that bind them all to the Witchboard. A modern-day coven of White Witches, a masquerade ball at Babtiste’s mansion, and the legacy of Naga Soth, Queen of Witches, are all part of a dangerous game that puts Emily’s soul on the line.”

If you’re familiar with the original film — and if you’re not, seriously, why deprive it? even from such supernatural stupidity? – You will know that this is an almost entirely new story, apart from the whole “wait, you mean Ouija boards can accidentally wake up devilish?” Plot-starter that sparked not only the first film but also its lesser-seen sequels. The other elements range from the oddly specific (the organic cafe!) to the all too familiar (New Orleans being short for “spooky surroundings”), but there’s also a mansion occult expert who hosts masked balls And a witch queen poking around, so that sounds like some of the 80’s cheese could be carried over.
