Strip mall fire in Lynnwood blocks portion of Highway 99

LYNNWOOD, Wash. — Rescue workers battle a fire at a Lynnwood mall early Wednesday morning that has shut down part of the freeway nearby.

The fire was reported just before 3:30 a.m. at Highway 99 and 156th St SW in Lynnwood. Authorities said no injuries were reported.

Highway 99 is closed in both directions between 156th and 164th St SW.

The fire brigade extinguishes the fire defensively, which means they are only outside the building.

South County Fire and Snohomish County Fire are among the local agencies. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
