Summer Games Fest 2022 – where to watch and what to expect

Summer Games Fest returns this year to deliver a bumper rollout with new games and updates on the games we’ve been waiting for a long time. The presentation will once again be hosted by industry veteran Geoff Keighley and we can expect everything from the big game to reveal to the smaller independent spotlight segments.

Last year, the highlight was a Elden Ring reveal game, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlandsand consider Death Stranding: Director’s Cut. This year, the show could be even bigger, especially since E3 skipped an event in June.

To help you stay informed as we get closer to the show, we’ve put this guide together for the 2022 Summer Olympics Festival. We’ll take a look at when it’s broadcast, where you can watch it. and what we can expect. Given last year’s run time, we’ll also guess how long the 2022 Summer Olympics Festival will last. Let’s exaggerate!

One detail we haven’t received is how long the 2022 Summer Olympics Festival will be. Last year’s presentation was about 2 hours long. We expect this year to be about the same length, although there are now more notable games in play that E3 has been skipped over. To be on the safe side, expect the presentation to last a total of 3 hours including pre- and post-show content.

Now the question is on everyone’s lips, what exactly will be displayed? Well, the answer is harder. Nothing has been leaked so far, and with Starfield and Redfall received the delay recently, there are some major games that cannot be displayed in detail at the moment.

Over the years, more and more companies have turned to hosting their own presentations. Sony has State of Play, Nintendo has Nintendo Direct shows, and Xbox now has the Xbox & Bethesda Showcase for the big announcements. We’ll probably see some good, just maybe not too in-depth, revelations about the gameplay of the first-party titles, though.

With that in mind, here are five games we want to see screened at the 2022 Summer Olympics Festival:

  • God of War Ragnarok – according to the game’s animation director, God of War Ragnarok Still releasing this year. Considering that, we really haven’t seen all that much. Maybe Sony will keep it for its own event, but some revelations would be great to see at Summer Games Fest 2022.
  • Elden Rings – The Summer Olympics Festival spends a lot of time on Elden Ring last year, so we bet it will be shown here as well. The game will probably have DLC, at least if we follow FromSoftware’s profile. Hopefully we’ll hear more about the future of Elden Ring sooner rather than later.
  • Warzone 2 – Activision has announced that this year’s Call of Duty will be Modern Warfare 2. It will launch with a Battlefield experience, so we bet we’ll reveal at some point during this year’s Summer Olympics Festival.
  • Fix game – There are currently five projects underway at Remedy, one being Alan Wake 2. There’s a lot that can be revealed, even if it’s just an update on Codename VanguardRemedy’s free-to-play co-op game co-published with Tencent.
  • Knights of Gotham – WB Games is still planning an October 25 release this year for Knight of Gotham. Despite a recent gameplay reveal, we haven’t seen much. This would be a great place to sell players on the new concept ahead of launch.

That’s all we have so far about the Summer Games Fest 2022 event. Before the broadcast date, we’ll be adding the officially released details. In the meantime, be sure to check out our guide to everything we know about Xbox and Bethesda Showcase 2022..
