Summit1g explains the moment when he “got lucky” and became a Twitch superstar

Popular streamer Jaryd ‘Summit1g’ Lazar has explained how he found fame on Twitch thanks to games like DayZ Standalone and CS:GO, which helped him become a star.

It can be difficult for aspiring streamers to grab the Twitch spotlight. Sometimes it can be a godsend when developers are quick to jump onto the latest trending games and themes to win the views.

After settling on Twitch in 2012, Summit1g has now earned his place as one of Twitch’s most famous faces. However, it wasn’t always an easy path.

The former pro CS:GO player has shared exactly how he worked his way to the top, going from 20 daily viewers to thousands.

Summit1g was nominated for a Legacy Award at the Streamer Awards ceremony in 2022 for his long and distinguished career.

How Summit1g grew from 100 to 1400 viewers per day

On June 21st, Summit1g explained exactly how he got famous. While he attributed it all to luck, taking risks and trying new game titles was also part of the game.

“I somehow did everything right. When I started, things just fell into my lap,” Summit said. “I played Counter-Strike, which was the first good choice…it took me from about 20 viewers to 200 viewers.”

However, he “had a hit” after deciding to switch from CS:GO to WarZ because he wanted to try a new game. As a result, his daily viewership dropped to 100.

But then things took a turn for Summit when playing WarZ helped him shoot at “1400 viewers every day.”

His decision to play DayZ standalone on stream also proved extremely successful as the game helped him become a star.

Summit has said goodbye to its DayZ standalone days and has moved on to games like Valorant, GTA V, and Fortnite.

With 6.1 million followers at the time of writing, it certainly didn’t do anything to lose its title as one of Twitch’s most popular streamers. Summit1g explains the moment when he “got lucky” and became a Twitch superstar
