Then her client’s mother called and asked for directions to the hospital. She’ll need them when she comes to see the birth.

“I told her that there was definitely some miscommunication and that ‘Dad and husband will be there to give birth,’ ‘ the user recounted. “She said the father encouraged her to reach out to see if I would mind leaving my husband at home so the grandmother could see the birth of her grandchild.”

While the agent assured the mother that she understood that this was not her child to keep, she was still undergoing medical procedures and wanted to have her husband with her. Next thing she knew, the couple woke her up and told her she was “ridiculous and rude” and that they could choose who was in the room.

“AITA?” she wondered. The couple are friends with her and it has been determined that she can dictate what her birth conditions will be.

Reddit users rallied to let her know that this absolutely her choice.

“It’s your body,” one person wrote. “Make sure the nurses know who your desired supporters are in the end, so there are no unexpected guests. You are doing an unbelievable thing by being a surrogate. Instead of being grateful, they are crossing the line and allowing grandma to harass you. NTA. “Many people insist that the only guests who should be in the delivery room are those invited in by the birth attendant.

“It might be their baby, but it’s OP’s body, and OP could even tell the two dads to wait in the waiting room if she chooses NOBODY but her support in the delivery room if she choose,” someone added. “I worked at L&D for a while, and we weren’t kind to anyone, including the baby’s father, stressing the delivery person and we would ask everyone to leave the room when the situation arises. Tension happens.”

And then there is a comment that summarizes it all perfectly.

“Why can’t you go out in the waiting room? They don’t allow that anymore? And why do people (the extended family, not the dads) feel they need to see the baby crown to feel included? ” one user asked. “I’ve met friends’ nieces, nephews and babies during hospital visits or even when they come home, and it’s still pretty special. NTA. No one has the right to see your vagina without your consent.”

Childbirth is nothing like the movies, as these stunning photos show.
