Tati Gabrielle to Play Jade in Mortal Kombat II


NetherRealms Mortal Kombat The franchise features a wide variety of fan-favorite characters that fans have come to know and love in various installments. The recent Reboot movie 2021 was mostly filled with classics like Sonya Blade, Scorpion, and Liu Kang, along with some fresh blood like (Lewis Tan’s Cole Young) or pure D-listers like Nitara and Reiko. The sequel to this film is currently in development his rosterand his latest addition is a huge fan favorite.
According to the Hollywood reporter, Mortal Kombat II is expected to include jade, which first appeared in Mortal Kombat II (the game) from 1993. She is played by Tati Gabrielle (known for You And Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), who is said to be in final talks for the role. In the original games timeline, Jade is an Outworld assassin who was trained alongside Kitana, stepdaughter of her ruler Shao Kahn. But at the time of writing, no one is officially set for the role of Kitana, who is rumored to be appearing in this film after her evil twin sister Mileena appeared in the 2021 film played by Sisi Stringer.
After the 2011 NetherRealm reboot, Jade was upgraded to become Kitana’s bodyguard, tasked by Shao Kahn to kill her if Kitana ever defected. Both were killed off in the reboot’s story mode and Jade reappeared later in 2019 Mortal Kombat 11 both as her past and present undead revenant selves. It is currently unknown if she will appear in the recently revealed show Mortal Kombat 1, But Jade is a character who has a lot of scope outside of games too; She appeared in the animated series Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms 2021 film voiced by Emily O’Brien and set in the 1997s Mortal Kombat: Annihilation, where she is played by Irina Pantaeva.
