Ted Lasso’s Fictional Dating App Comes to Life on Bumble

Teddy Lasso is the kind of show that delights audiences week in and week out, and the show also has a lot of things that we would want in our own world – like the AFC Richmond Greyhounds (and definitely Roy Kent). But some things must remain fictional, and others can be brought to life in our own world, like Bantr’s! Dating apps are an unfortunate evil in our modern love life, and so the typical fanfare can get tedious after a while.

Now you can try your hand at the Bantr app, which quickly became our favorite team’s sponsor thanks to Keeley’s skills (Juno Temple). And the app brought us a beautiful relationship between Sam (Tohit Jimoh) and Rebecca (Hannah Waddingham), but now fans can use the app to find their own love. It’s actually a partnership with dating app Bumble. But that doesn’t mean it’s still not cool!

The app played a big part in Season 2. For a good chunk of the season, we wondered who Rebecca was talking to on the app (because you don’t know who you match up with), and many speculated that she was Jason Sudeikis‘ Ted Lasso, only to reveal Sam on the other end of the flirtatious messages, and their very sweet relationship started to blossom from there. However, now you can have your own mystery meetup and see who you connect with.

The weekly “Bantr Live” experience, starting Thursday October 13th at 7pm local time, will be available in Bumble’s date mode and will let users match without seeing each other’s profile pictures (like on the show), and let the two chat for three minutes with the option to continue the conversation and see their profile afterwards, depending on diversity.

During the promotion, Bumble is bringing to life the Bantr format, which Bumble says is about “putting personality first and connecting people in a fun, pressure-free way.” “As huge fans of ‘Ted Lasso,’ we were so excited to bring the Bantr Live experience to our community,” he said Olivia Ju, Global VP for Partnerships. “Bantr Live allows our community to connect with the unexpected and learn more about a person before they see them. We look forward to people on Bumble having fun with Bantr Live and connecting and dating in new and exciting ways.” This is a gorgeous way to show your love Teddy Lasso while trying to find your own love at the same time, and isn’t that wonderful?

Both seasons of Ted Lasso are now streaming on Apple TV+.
