Ten Hag saw Mason Mount DOMINATE Dutch football aged just 18 and clips could give clue to £60m transfer’s Man Utd role

ERIK TEN HAG had his first glimpse of Mason Mount well before he took charge of Manchester United.
The England international became the Red Devils’ first signing of what is expected to be a busy summer for United on Wednesday.
Ten Hag has been impressed by what he saw of the 24-year-old in United’s home games against Chelsea last season.
But the United gaffer’s first impression of Mount came while he was coaching Dutch giants Ajax.
Ten Hag got his first taste of Mount’s abilities six years ago when the United newcomer was loaned to Vitesse Arnhem.
Mount played the full 90 minutes in Vittesse’s 3-2 win against the Eredivisie giants – whom they scored the double-over in 2017/18 – in April 2018 and put in an impressive performance.
Mount’s season at Vittesse was a resounding success: the attacking midfielder scored 19 goals and provided 10 assists in 39 appearances.
United secured Mount’s services from Chelsea for a £60million fee.
The forward said: “It’s never easy leaving the club you grew up at.
“But Manchester United will present an exciting new challenge for us next phase of my career.
