POLK COUNTY, TEN — Imagine waking up in your bed in the morning and finding out that the dog you cuddled with is not yours. That’s exactly what happened to a woman from Tennessee.
Jimmy Johnson opened his eyes and didn’t recognize the dog sleeping in her bed.
“I rolled onto my side of the bed and I said, ‘No, no, no, that’s not our dog,'” Julie Johnson said.
The couple believe the back door was accidentally left open and their new furry roommate just walked in.
After a post went viral on Facebook, someone recognized the dog named Nala.
“We have a Facebook message that says, ‘Hey, this is my dog. I’ll be there in a few minutes, what’s your address?’” Johnson said.
She confirmed that it was indeed the woman’s dog by demanding photos as proof.
“She sent me Christmas pictures and all sorts of photos with her dogs.”
Johnson found that Nala had traveled almost two miles and the adventure finally ended when the dog needed some company.
“In fact, I was still in bed snuggling up to Nala when her mom walked in,” Jimmy Johnson said.
Without the Facebook post, Julie and Jimmy would have had another dog as part of their family.
