Summer is coming to an end and spooky season is just around the corner! While it’s still hot, some of us are ready to get into the fall spirit, and what better way to do that than to check out some Halloween movies and shows.

There’s no better way to start autumn than to get in the spirit of Halloween, even if it’s a little earlier. Whether it’s decorating your room with pumpkins or turning on your favorite scary movie. It won’t be long before Netflix releases the official schedule for Netflix & Chills, we’re just getting a head start!

As we get ever closer to the spooky holiday, here are the best titles to watch on Netflix this Halloween, starting with Mike Flanagan’s highly anticipated new series.

The Fall of the House of Usher

The Fall of the House of Usher is the latest offering from horror mastermind Mike Flanagan, and likely his last project at Netflix since he signed a new deal with Amazon. Many veteran actors from his previous projects will return House Usherincluding Carla Gugino, Kate Siegel, Rahul Kohli and Samantha Sloyan.

How The Haunting of Hill House And The Haunting of Bly Manor, House Usher is also based on several iconic pieces of literature. This time Flanagan takes on Edgar Allan Poe. And while the show is named after his 1839 short story, it’s not the only Poe short story or poem he used as inspiration.

Expect references and Easter eggs related to many of Poe’s most famous works. Flanagan hasn’t revealed which ones they are just yet, but the release date is getting closer so fans can familiarize themselves with the information they need beforehand!

Although House Usher hasn’t been released yet, the hype surrounding this series is very real and it’s undoubtedly one of the most anticipated new shows of the upcoming fall. Thankfully, we don’t have to wait much longer to catch the series as it begins streaming on October 12th.
