Make Me Prime Minister Kelly Given co-hosted the march and was seen behind a banner that read ‘Believe in Scotland’.

The TV star wore a white top with a jeweled Scotland slogan as she posed alongside FM co-host Alistair Heather and singer Iona Fyfe.

She posted a series of photos on Twitter with the caption, “What a day.”

“Thank you to everyone who helped make this possible – and a special thank you to my amazing co-host!

“The next step is independence.”

Members of the SNP and the broader Yes movement marched in large numbers down the Royal Mile.

Many were wrapped in saltiers and wore kilts for the occasion.
Some of the flags were embossed with the stars of the EU.

In the sunshine, some wore t-shirts with the slogan “Yes”.

Some shouted “Freedom”.

The song “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)” blared from the speakers.

Vendors waved flags near the city’s historic castle.

This week Mr Yousaf extended a personal invitation to supporters of the split in the UK to the ‘Believe in Scotland’ pro-independence march and rally.

He assured them that whatever the weather, “nothing can dampen our enthusiasm and determination.”

Mr Yousaf took the stage to address the crowd, as did Scottish Green co-leader Lorna Slater.

Also seen at the march were Independence Secretary Jamie Hepburn, Green Party co-leader Patrick Harvie and SNP vice-leader Keith Brown.
