The Coronation Street star has signed with Strictly Come Dancing after quitting the soap and splitting from his partner

Former Coronation Street star Ellie Leach is set to recover from her heartbreak by signing for the upcoming series of Strictly Come Dancing.
The actress, who left the ITV1 soap opera after playing Faye Windass since 2011, recently split from model boyfriend Reagan Pettman after five years together.
Now Ellie, 22, could be enjoying the infamous ‘Strictly Curse’, which sees celebrity contestants fall in love with the sexy professionals on the BBC1 dance show.
A TV insider said: “This could be just the thing for Ellie who’s been going through some big life changes this year and could use something new to focus on.”
“Not only did she break up with Reagan, she also left Corrie, a show she practically grew up on, joining the cast when she was a kid.
“It will take some getting used to, but Strictly is part of opening a new chapter for Ellie.
“The dance competition will also give her a chance to perform in a way that she rarely did on Weatherfield’s cobblestone streets, as Faye was a comparatively old-fashioned character.
“The only time Ellie was seen dressed smartly was when she walked the red carpet at events as herself.”
It was May when single mom Faye left the soap and moved to Slough to be with Jackson Hodge, the man who got her pregnant when she was 12.
Ellie is intrigued by Corrie because she is the cousin of Brooke Vincent, 31, best known for playing Sophie Webster on the show for the past 15 years.
Strictly bosses are hoping this will generate some extra Stardust by inviting Ellie’s relatives to the studio to support her during the competition.
Her addition to the cast, which is yet to be confirmed by the BBC, will result in the show getting the “complete soap set” as it will also join former Emmerdale actor Adam Thomas, 34, as well as EastEnders’ Bobby Brazier, 20, the son of the late Jade Goody.
They staunchly declined to comment on “speculation” but will announce all contestants within weeks as the show’s 21st season kicks off in September.
