The EastEnders star returns to the soap five months after his shock exit

The AN EASTENDERS star has returned to the soap five months after her surprise exit.
Soap fans will be pleased to know that Sam Mitchell is returning to Walford later this year.
The character, now played by Kim Medcalf, has already returned to the iconic set.
According to Metro.co.uk, Kim is filming her return scenes after leaving the BBC One soap in April this year.
The 49-year-old Kim played Sam Mitchell in the series from 2002 to 2005 and again from 2022.
Viewers previously watched as Sam left Albert Square to travel to Spain to manage a new luxury bar in a hotel.
She later called Jack Branning to tell him she would be staying “at least until the end of the summer” because the hotel had been inundated with guests.
Fans fear she may never return to Walford again, but their fears have now been allayed.
When she returns, she will meet her granddaughter Charlie, who was born earlier this month.
And with EastEnders planning a Christmas carnage story, Sam is likely to be involved.
Kim was recently spotted in London after a black taxi driver took a selfie with the soap star.
She smiled as she wore a white top with multi-colored details and her blonde hair hung loosely around her shoulders.
Danniella Westbrook originally played the role of Sam Mitchell but was axed by Beeb bosses.
EastEnders airs on BBC One and iPlayer.
