The Flash Brings Back Nora and the Thawnes for Final Season

The CWs Flash Show runs since eight seasons now with his ninth and final season blow in just a few days. What’s pretty typical of the final seasons of shows that know they’re going to end, The CW is bringing back so many actors from the show’s history as best it can and recently announced another trio for the ensemble.

Actors Jessica Parker Kennedy (Nora West-Allen/XS), Rick Cosnett (Eddie Thawne) and Matt Letscher (Eobard Thawne/Reverse-Flash) will return for the show’s final season, Entertainment Weekly revealed. Admittedly, that’s not entirely surprising: all three characters guest-starred in the previous game Flash season for an episode or more, and Letscher also appeared as Thawne in the seventh (and final) season from Legends of Tomorrow last year. His character was murdered on this show, but hey, who is Eobard Thawne if not someone who manages to cheat death despite looking pretty dead?

Speaking to EW, showrunner Eric Wallace opened up about getting all three actors back for the final season always in the plans. He mentioned that Thawne’s performance was a “very special” one that had been planned for some time and would be “a wild and bittersweet episode.” Wallace teased Kennedy’s return similarly to Nora, saying that it “makes her incredible portrayal of Nora West-Allen even bigger in a way audiences have never seen before.”

At the time of writing, recurring guest stars are on the other side The Lightning Nine year history span Arrow Former Stephen Amell and David Ramsey, former Kid Flash Keiynan Lonsdale and John Wesley Shipp. The final season also gains some actors from the larger Arrowverse, as Nicole Maines and Javicia Leslie will return as their respective characters Dreamer and Batwoman. However, Leslie is also set to play another character, whose identity is currently under wraps.

The Lightning begins its final season on The CW on February 8th.
