Sue Fogwell was a flight attendant for 22 years.

She said she “never drinks the tap water” on a flight as it is stored in tanks that are never cleaned.

But something never to fall for is the water jug on the cart when it comes around.

She said on Travel + Leisure: “Sometimes we ran out of water bottles on flights.

“In Economy Class, if you see a pitcher of water on the beverage cart, leave it out – it’s from the water tank.”

Cabin crew member Cierra Mistt approved of her TikTok account.

She said: “Unless we are very desperate, we will not drink the coffee or tea that is delivered on the plane.

“The water we use for the coffee and the tea comes from the same place, and you know what? It’s never cleaned.”

However, the Sun Online Travel flight attendants blogger said the water wasn’t as bad as everyone was claiming.

He said: “I know people who have been flying for over 50 years who have had hot water the whole time and have never had any problems.

“You’ll find that most of the time we like to have it in tea and coffee, that we need to be alert for a long-haul flight, so there’s no reason you shouldn’t be too.”

Here are five more drinks you shouldn’t opt for on a flight.

But there are two drinks you should order on the plane.

According to experts, ginger ale and bloody marys taste best on a flight.
