The legendary British rock band are in talks to headline Glastonbury next year

COLDPLAY are in advanced talks to headline Glastonbury.

The band, who last topped the iconic event in 2016 and made their debut 25 years ago, have left a gap in their schedule to make them available to perform at Worthy Farm next year.

Coldplay, who were last at the helm at Glastonbury in 2016, have left a gap in their schedule to make them available for an appearance at Worthy Farm next year

Yesterday they announced another European leg of their Music Of The Spheres world tour for next summer.

However, there is a break from June 26th to 30th, when the festival takes place.

Bookies had Coldplay at odds of 6/4 to headline and frontman Chris Martin is a big fan of the event.

Although it’s been a few years since the band last performed properly there, Chris performed as a punter in 2017 and joined Kylie Minogue and Stormzy on stage for their sets in 2019.

In 2021 the group played a set as part of the Live At Worthy Farm livestream in Glastonbury after the festival was canceled due to Covid lockdown restrictions.

They will release a new album called Moon Music when the next big event is coming up. Chris teased this week that it was due “early next year.”

Of the upcoming album and comparisons to their latest LP, he said, “I wouldn’t say it’s a sequel, but it has something to do with it.” It’s a separate thing, but it will be part of the same tour. It’s like a cousin.

“We take a studio with us on tour.

“That’s the amazing thing about making records these days. You can craft them anywhere.

“I always go to the studio on my days off. That’s my hobby.”

When asked if the album would include collaborations, he added, “I don’t know. That still has to be decided.

“This time we approach the collaboration a little differently. But I really enjoy working on it.”

“Feels Really Right”

Chris has also reiterated the claim that the group will only be releasing three more collections to their nine studio albums.

In Italy, he added: “I just have this strong feeling in my heart that we should do 12 projects and that feels really right.”

“But after that, we’d still love to do shows and tours. I think 12 albums is a lot.”

New music or not, their back catalog will place them at the top of festival lists for years to come.

Haz flies high

HARRY STYLES escapes death by being shot from a cannon, having knives thrown at him and walking a tightrope in his latest music video.

He was shooting the visuals for Daylight in May last year and I was sharing how he spent a month at a circus school in Kent getting the basics before shooting.

The video has only now been released after spending months perfecting it.

It was viewed more than four million times within 24 hours of its release, ahead of the final night of Harry’s Love On Tour live shows.

He’s been on a global journey since September 2021, but tomorrow’s show in Reggio Emilia, northern Italy, is the final stop.

He made several videos during the tour, including this new one, and released his most successful album to date, Harry’s House.

With some free time on the horizon, maybe he can finally put his circus skills to good use.

HAILEY and Justin Bieber looked like they were spending different nights in these contrasting outfits.

The model wore a white mini dress, but pop star Justin looked ready to take out the bins in a baggy hoodie, jeans and a tank top.

They were on their way to dinner in New York.

Depending on the quality of the restaurant, one of these seemed very out of place.

Ari’s evil fun with Ethan

ARIANA GRANDE wasted no time in splitting from husband Dalton Gomez – she is now dating her Wicked co-star Ethan Slater.

US sources claimed last night that she has started dating the Broadway actor while she was filming the upcoming movie musical following their recent split.

Ethan plays Boq – who is angered by Ariana’s character, Glinda.

He married singer Lilly Jay in 2018 and they had a son last year, although they reportedly split before he started dating Ari.

It sounds like there was just as much drama off screen as there is to be on film.

IS IT WILL.AI.SHAM?

When I heard that Britney Spears and WILL.I.AM had teamed up for a new song, I hoped they would return with a clever summertime anthem to put them both back at the forefront of pop.

But alas, their forthcoming collaboration, Mind Your Business, is one of the most soulless and unforgettable tracks I’ve ever heard.

I’m still not convinced this wasn’t entirely caused by AI.

To say that Britney “sings” is a gross exaggeration when a robotic voice murmurs vague words about being pursued by the paparazzi.

Given that she released a far better song on the same subject in 2007’s “Piece Of Me,” I doubt anyone else will be too impressed. In the track, Britney says, “Uptown, downtown, everywhere, I turn my head. Hollywood, London, Snap Snap is the sound.

“Paparazzi shot me, I’m the economy. Follow me, follow me, follow me.”

And in the incomprehensible second verse she continues, “If they don’t get up for me, I’ll send the dogs out.” Five seconds and then the dogs come out.

“You know what happens when the dogs come out. None of your business.”

There’s plenty of scope for Britney to make a musical comeback as she’s released so many incredible pop records in the past.

But such empty nonsense will not help her one bit.

WEDDING WAIT ON GEMMA

GEMMA COLLINS has put her wedding to Rami Hawash on hold – citing Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck as inspiration.

In an exclusive chat, 42-year-old The GC said: “I’m doing a J-Lo and I’m going to get married when I’m 50. There is no rush.

“Me and Rami are both free spirits. We’ve known each other for so long.

“We agreed that if we’re both still together at 50, we’ll do it.”

I’m sure J-Lo will be delighted.

Gemma is part of Plusnet’s It’s A Plus campaign, in which she delves into the country’s problems through Gemma’s dilemmas and why she thinks she’s the right woman for the job.

She explained: “I think everyone is so scared to speak up. The world has gone mad.

“I used to be so much more fun, but now I get more censorship — people are afraid I’ll say something controversial, but I’m not afraid to say it like it is.” So I’m the right person for these dilemmas.

“People love clear advice and I will give it to them.

“Everyone these days wants a million pounds but doesn’t want to work for it. It’s madness.”

Finally, I think we can agree on this, Gemma.

Trio Scott has their eye on the chart hit

TRAVIS SCOTT tops the new release list today after teaming up with The Weeknd and Bad Bunny on their single Kpop.

It will be included on Travis’ forthcoming album Utopia, which he is expected to release on July 28 following a groundbreaking concert alongside the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt.

Other recent songs include Zayn Malik’s first new song in two years, Love Like This, as well as History Books by American rockers The Gaslight Anthem, who hired Bruce Springsteen to write the song.

And good news for Blur fans, their first album in eight years, The Ballad of Darren, is also out.

No disco for Dua

MARK RONSON says Dua Lipa will ditch the disco sound of 2020’s ‘Future Nostalgia’ on her next LP

The producer above worked with her on the track “Dance The Night Away” for the Barbie movie soundtrack and says a disco ball bursting in the video could be a hint of what’s to come.

He told Vulture magazine: “I’ve heard some of this and it’s amazing.”

I'm a size 22 and obsessed with an 18 pound dress, it looks expensive and I can do without a bra
I pride myself on being hairy... trolls say I'm mean, but I don't care, I've renounced razors

Changing direction, Mark continued, “I think that’s why the disco ball pops in the video, right?

“It feels like she’s triumphantly transforming that era of her music into everything she does next.”
