The Love Island boss reveals a twist that will shock fans – just minutes into the first show

‘LOVE Island’ viewers will be in shock just minutes into the launch show as the cast is treated to a dramatic turn of events.
The show’s creative director Mike Spencer has revealed that the first episode of the show – next Monday 5 June at 9pm – will be unmissable and set to deliver an unprecedented shock to islanders.
Speaking to The Sun at the Love Island villa in Mallorca, Mike revealed: “It’s up to us as producers to change the format, keep it fresh and keep viewers engaged.
“I think you can watch the first episode and there are a few things you weren’t expecting.”
Earlier this week, it was announced that the public will be able to choose which islanders to bring together by voting through the app – giving them the chance to put together the cast before the show even begins.
But Mike has promised a twist to keep the show from becoming “predictable” – and says fans are in for a surprise.
He said, “We know the audience will bring the islanders together, but I think the beginning of the show could be different from the start.”
“I hope that the spectators will be enthusiastic on the first day as well. It is [bringing] uses traditional formats and keeps islanders on their toes because it can be predictable.”
Last season, when the show was filmed in South Africa, fans were given the opportunity to vote for a bombshell to be brought to the villa after the first episode – their choice was Ellie Spence, 25, from Norwich, or 23-year-old footballer Tom Clare – who later became a finalist along with his partner Samie Eilishi.
But Mike promises the season 10 launch show will be even more explosive – adding, “Expect the unexpected, that’s all I’ll say.”
Love Island returns on Monday 5 June at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
