When is Teen Wolf: The Movie coming out?

We’re finally doing it! Teen Wolf: The Movie will be released on January 26, 2023 on Paramount+! Filming took place from March 21 to May 13, 2022, so the film is currently in the post-production phase. Here’s a tweet the official teenage wolf The Twitter page was split as the cast and crew finished the film.

Although no full-length trailer has come out yet, Tyler Posey, Tyler Hoechlin, and Jeff Davis were at San Diego Comic-Con 2022 to share a teaser. In it we see that the film shows Scott McCall and his friends as adults, ready to fight against shapeshifters of all kinds who reappear when the moon is full. Although the clip is under a minute, it reveals many exciting details about the film. Check it out in the player above. More Footage from the new film was released at New York Comic-Con on October 7, 2022 along with the release date.

What is the plot of Teen Wolf: The Movie?

It may be too early to define what the story will be about, but we do know that it is set in Beacon Hills and there was a time warp from the series finale to the events of the film. According to the Paramount+ press release, some of the supernatural creatures set to make a comeback are the banshees, hellhounds, wejoyotes, and the kitsunes. Aside from these shapeshifters, Scott and his allies will face their deadliest enemy yet, the Nogitsune. Although the protagonist and his well-known group of friends will be the focus of the story as adults, Teen Wolf: The Movie will also follow a new juvenile wolf to ensure the name is still true.

As of now, the actors set to reprise their roles in the film are Tyler Posey, Holland Roden, Shelley Henning, crystal reed, Orny Adams, Linde Ashby, JR Bourne, Seth Gilliam, Colton Haynes, Ryan Kelly, Melissa Ponzio, Dylan SprayberryTyler Hoechlin, Khylin Rhambo, Ian Bohenand roscoe.

The return of Crystal Reed who played Allison Argent in the series from seasons 1 to 3, was a welcome surprise for the fans. Given that the character was killed off at the end of Season 3 and shared a tragic heart with Scott, her mysterious return from the grave could mean she could have a major impact on fighting the enemy. Archery props were spotted, so she probably won’t appear as a ghost. Jeff Davis even said the following about Collider’s Therese Lacson at Comic-Con about Reed’s return:

“It’s not a cameo. She has a big role in the film and I think it’s quite significant to see her walking away from the burning wrecked car with arrows on her back. So I don’t want to say too much, but she has a lot of fun things to do in the film.”

Two other interesting names here are Colton Haynes and Ryan Kelley, as both of their characters had little involvement in the final season of the MTV hit. Tyler Hoechlin shared during the Comic-Con panel that he only found out about his involvement in the feature film shortly before filming began. In addition to reprising his role as Derek, Hoechlin also produced Teen Wolf: The Movie.

Now you might be wondering about the iconic name that didn’t make the list. Although Stiles Stilinski was one of the main characters of the series, Dylan o’brien -> actor Variety confirmed that he made the decision not participate in the production. The actor said he’s very grateful for the opportunities that come with the experience and supports the cast as they venture back to Beacon Hills.

As previously mentioned, there will be a younger character who enters this episode as Scott’s successor to the Teen Wolf title. His name is Eli Hale (Vince Mattis) and he is none other than Derek’s 15-year-old son. Here’s what Hoechlin told US Weekly about the father-son relationship we’ll see between Derek and Eli, and how it compares to the fatherly figure in which he portrays Superman & Lois.

“He’s also a father now. It was interesting and fun to play a father as a different character – things that I get to do there that I don’t necessarily get to do with Clark because that’s who he is and what he really is at his core. “

Another new cast member to join the film is Amy Lin Workman, who will play Hikari Zhang. While we’re not sure if she’ll become a creature like most of the cast, it would be interesting to learn more about her involvement in the project once more details emerge.

Will there be more Teen Wolf content coming out in the future?

While nothing has been confirmed about the promotion teenage wolf into more sequels, Davis said at the Comic-Con panel that there have been discussions about more films in the future. The screenwriter and executive producer is now working alongside Paramount+ on another supernatural project titled wolf pack. The series doesn’t seem to be set within the teenage wolf Universe, but has been described as a spinoff, so it will definitely be a title to keep in mind for your watch list once the film comes out. Also, the cast includes none other than Buffy herself, Sarah Michelle Gellar.

Seasons 1-6 of teenage wolf are currently available to stream on Paramount+, Hulu, and Prime Video.
