The BBC One program is currently presented by Alex Jones and Jermaine Jenas, with other guest presenters filling in when required.
One of them was Roman Kemp and after being a huge hit with viewers, the 30-year-old has now been confirmed as the official co-host alongside Alex, 46, and Jermaine, 40.
Joanne Vaughan-Jones, editor of The One Show, said: “We are delighted to have Roman join us on the sofa as a regular One Show host alongside Alex and Jermaine.”
“It’s an exciting new chapter for the show and we look forward to viewers seeing more of Roman.”
Roman added, “I am extremely excited to be a permanent presenter on The One Show. I’ve had so much fun filming with the team on the sofa for the last year already.
“It’s a dream come true to be in prime time BBC Onewith the best current topic News and entertainment for the nation.”
Lauren Laverne has also been given a regular spot on the sofa, while Ronan Keating remains an important part of the One Show family and continues to host shows.
Ronan, 46, said about him Future on the show: “I’ve enjoyed being part of the hosting team on The One Show and I’ve had the best years working with Alex, Jermaine and the entire team.”
“Due to my performing and recording schedule, I will be doing fewer shows this year, but I’m still part of the family and I wish Roman the best of luck.”
Other members of the program’s extended family of presenters will continue to co-host episodes throughout the year, and Matt Allwright and Nikki Fox will continue in their hosting responsibilities at Watchdog.
Earlier this week, it was announced that The One Show would return from summer break starting next week. The first program will be broadcast on Tuesday 29th August.
The One Show airs weekdays at 7pm on BBC One from 29 August.
