After a nearly three-year delay, Hulu’s third season arrives The Orville Finally launched last month and it was worth the wait. Now creator Seth MacFarlane has announced an additional treat for fans – the first three seasons of the series will also stream on Disney+.
The Orville was relatively popular with critics, but after two seasons it transitioned from much wider distribution with Fox to Hulu’s smaller audience. However, with over 85 million subscribers internationally, Disney+ will significantly expand the pool of potential viewers.
“I’m thrilled to bring all three seasons of The Orville to Disney+,” said MacFarlane. “Making this show has been one of the most satisfying experiences of my career, and I’m immensely grateful to Disney for giving us the opportunity to expand ours Orville community further. I can’t wait for new viewers to experience this series.”
The extra eyeballs on The Orville with Disney+ could prove crucial for the series as it has yet to greenlight a fourth season. MacFarlane himself remained silent on the matter, saying “I don’t think we’ll know until this season is over.” The final two episodes of Season 3 will air on July 28th and August 4th, and all three seasons will arrive on Disney+ on August 10th.
