‘The Sims 4’ will be free to play starting next month

Almost exactly eight years after first arriving on PC, The Sims 4 is go play free , Publisher EA will not charge you anything to download the base game on Mac, PC, PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X. If you have already paid for the original version or decide to purchase before October 17th, the company will give you the upcoming Desert Luxe Kit free. The DLC comes with a handful of southwestern desert furniture.

Note that EA has released 12 expansions for The Sims 4and if you decide to play the game for free, you will miss out on many of the features that make the game look so compelling in 2022. For example without them Cats & Dogs DLC installed, Your Sims cannot get a cat or dog companion.

As for today’s news, EA says that developer Maxis is “more committed than ever to creating new and meaningful experiences for players and will continue to develop packs, kits, and delivery express drops for Sims for the foreseeable future and.” On that note, the pair will be hosting a live stream on October 18 to share what’s next for the franchise.
