The Taste Northwest starts Friday at the Washington State Fair

The free food event will feature more than 40 food vendors.

PUYALLUP, Wash. – Taste Northwest, formerly known as Taste of Tacoma, is back this year with a new name and location.

The food event begins Friday at the Washington State Fair and will feature more than 40 food vendors.

According to the Washington State Fair, they purchased The Taste of Tacoma after the company that organized the event could no longer financially support the event.

“There’s still going to be a bit of nostalgia for the same food carts here, but of course the fairgrounds bring,” said Stacy Van Horne, public relations director for the Washington State Fair Events Center. to such a unique experience.

Admission to The Taste Northwest is free, and vendors will serve smaller portions of their menus for $5.

In addition to food, the festival will feature family activities such as ax throwing and rollerblading.

The Washington State Fair returns to Puyallup in 2021 after it was canceled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This is the first time the fair has been canceled in nearly 80 years.
