“They hate us” – Manchester City superstar says Liverpool are ‘sick of’ Cityzens after Premier League title win

Manchester City striker Riyad Mahrez has made the splashy claim that Liverpool are fed up with his side, following a monumental Premier League win on May 22.

The two Premier League title rivals entered the final day of the season with just one point difference. City are above 90 points while the Reds are 89 points behind them with Pep Guardiola’s side boasting a better goal difference (6).

The Manchester giants made the worst possible start at the Etihad against Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa. By the 70th minute they were 2-0 down and staring at the crate that could potentially throw away the title as Liverpool drew 1-1 with Wolves at that stage.

But Manchester City staged an iconic comeback to return to their first major league success, in 2012. Ilkay Gundogan’s brace and Rodri’s strike did the damage in round five. minutes when they claimed the Premier League title in dramatic fashion.

The Anfield team beat Wolves with a score of 3-1 on that day but it was nowhere after Man City’s victory.

After the game, Mahrez told Canal+ (via LiverpoolEcho) about putting Liverpool in the post for another title, they have been at war with the Reds in previous seasons.

“Liverpool are a crazy team, they are a great team.. I know they hate us. They’re sick of us because if we weren’t here they wouldn’t have everything every year, but here we are and we’ll never give up and we’ll be here next year. “

Manchester City have won four of the last five Premier League titles, while the Reds have managed to contain their outburst in 2020.

Both are by far the two dominant teams in the league and this season’s title race is testament to the world-class clubs they both are.
