The thieves got away with a self-service post office, which the Seattle Police Department said contained nothing of value.
SEATTLE — A group of burglars used a truck to steal a kiosk from a post office in Ballard early Thursday morning, according to the Seattle Police Department (SPD).
Police received a report that three men in a pickup truck used a chain to open the front door of a post office at Block 5700 of 17th Avenue Northwest around 4:30 a.m. Then they sped off with a self-service post office.
Investigators don’t believe the thieves got away with anything of value.
Police later found the suspects’ truck and mail machine at Block 7200 of Detroit Avenue Southwest.
According to the SPD, investigators are still looking for suspects.
Robberies and thefts have been an issue not just in Seattle but across the region in recent months.
Thieves have used things like trucks, forklifts, and even a front end loader to steal businesses. Many of the thefts target ATMs.
