Three killed in fiery car crash in Santa Clarita

Three people were killed and two others injured Sunday afternoon when two cars collided on a road in a canyon in Santa Clarita, the California Highway Patrol said

Investigators were still at the scene of the accident at Block 29000 of San Francisquito Canyon Road late Sunday evening. The identities of the dead and injured were not released. The two people who survived the crash were taken to a hospital, their condition was unknown.

After the collision, flames erupted from the wreckage and were extinguished by firefighters. According to the CHP, the crash happened shortly after 4 p.m.

While the investigation continued, the San Francisquito Canyon between Riverview Road and the Quail Trail remained closed, the CHP said. Three killed in fiery car crash in Santa Clarita
