Rich Boy, the Alabama rapper best known for his 2006 hit “Throw Some D’s” with Polow Da Don, was arrested last Friday and sent to Mobile Jail, Media Take Out has confirmed.
Rich Boy was arrested on two third-degree domestic violence charges, one involving molestation and the other assault, police allege. According to ABC 15 News, the arrest was the result of an altercation with his parents.
Social media reports say the 39-year-old rich boy has fallen on hard times after his rap career stalled – and moved home to his parents.
Media Take Out has learned that a video has been circulating online showing the former XXL newcomer shirtless and engaged in some sort of altercation. It’s unclear if this alleged video is related to the rapper’s recent arrest.
Rich Boy got his first big break in the rap game in 2006 when he signed with Polow Da Don’s Zone 4 record label. The following year, he released his self-titled debut album, which included the hit single “Throw Some D’s,” a track that reached #6 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in March 2007. That same year, he was named Rookie of the Year at the BET Hip Hop Awards and was a member of the inaugural XXL Freshman Class.
